Fumiko’s Confession

November 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Turn on the caption at Youtube if you want the English subs.

The above short anime was independently created by a group of independent animators.

It tells the story of a girl who confessed to the boy she likes but got rejected straight away.

It’s nice and if you have the time (more or less 2 minutes), do watch it. You won’t regret it. Even non-anime lovers.

Also, it seems that many people have seen scenes like in the anime in their dreams, moving at the great speed…

Bunkface Wikipedia Page Deleted

bunkface

Bunkface’s wikipedia page was deleted by an overzealous editor. Apparantly this fella has some sort of discrimination towards stubs.

“Does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject” is a lame excuse to delete an article wholesale. It’s like deleting Peterpan or All American Rejects when the article is still new.

And for those who don’t know it, Bunkface is a Malaysian band who sung “Through My Window”, a song used in TMNet’s latest advertisement.

The band’s singing is so good that its comparable to American bands’.

Odaiba Memorial

November 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

On the 1st of August, 1999, a group of children in Japan had their first encounter with monsters known as Digimon. It was at a location known as Odaiba.

If it weren’t for that event that day, many of us might not have be who and where we are today.

We wouldn’t have known Digimon. Some of us wouldn’t be fans of animes. Some of us won’t be drawing fanarts, CG and writing fan fictions. Some of us won’t be starting websites and forums and some of us won’t have made AMVs. We wouldn’t have met others who are also fans of the series and some of us would have ended up never knowing each other.

Therefore, every year on the August 1, a memorial was held to remember that important day.

The year 2009 was its 10th anniversary. A celebration was held worldwide on the 1st of August 2009 and many AMVs were made by the Digimon fans in general.

Joe Kido would have been 23 years old this year and Takeru Takahashi would have been 18 years old, like yours truly. Time flies by. People grow up.

But it will always be a good memory.

Namewee pwns Tenaga Nasional Berhad

November 4, 2009 · 2 Comments

The other day, Namewee was writing a new song when a blackout suddenly occured at Muar. He became so mad that he went over to the TNB office to do some scolding.

For doing that, he has received several negative comments, including:

1. He is looking for “publisiti murahan” (cheap publicity).
2. “Baru tiga kali setahun pun nak bising”.
3. “Cina Komunis”

To reply to the first one, only worthy news gets to be publicized widely. Besides that, Namewee does not need to do “cheap publicity” – HE ALREADY HAS ALL THE PUBLICITY AND ATTENTION. Only those who criticize him wants “cheap publicity” and attention. In fact, only people in Malaysia would use the word “cheap publicity” to cover everything as if there’s no problem at all.

To reply to the second one, huh, you live in the jungle. In Singapore, a blackout only occur once in ten years, and for a very short period only too! That is the comparison. Those who support TNB with this lame excuse deserve to get more blackout… and no internet so that they would not be able to leave such comments.

To the third one, you’re just a freaking racist who is not progressive at all and deserves to be ignored by all means. Amen.

Seriously, these people who support TNB live in the jungle. It seems as if these people like to live in the dark. In my opinion, now that someone has spoken about the blackout, if you don’t want to live without electricity, support him lah. =.=;;

Here’s my message to those who had the guts to tell Namewee off: Go live in the jungle, man.

The way Namewee has presented himself made him look very bad in the eyes of some (he did lots and lots of swearing), but it is his noble intention that made him a hero in the eyes of those who want to see Malaysia become a developed country.

It’s not about whether it’s a breakdown or it’s a shutdown – It’s about the FACT THAT THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY! Should it be like this: “Breakdown? Takpe.” No way! I mean, seriously, these people has to discard their “tak apa” mentality. Fight for your rights, man! >__>

There may be only three blackouts in Muar in a year, but here in Kota Kinabalu, it’s like thirty blackouts a year! You know how damning it is, especially for us who live in the city?
