Shiroi Hana – ZONE

June 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Shiroi Hana, a song sung by ZONE, could probably be one of the earliest songs that I have listened to online when I had started having internet connection at around 2004. I was then, you could say, a noob at that time. The thing is, this song was featured in a Japanese advertisement. An advertisement that I had had been watching over and over again.

I had a GameBoyAdvance and had been playing with it since 2003 I think. Even during my UPSR examination period I had been playing with the GBA. It was funny how I ended up with 7As when the result came out. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was probably my favourite game on the GBA. It was either Pokémon Sapphire or that game.

Here it all comes together: The advertisement that I was talking about was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance’s advertisement in Japan. As I was a keen fanatic of FFTA at that time, I had searched the internet for materials, hoping to find some. I found the 15-second advertisement and subsequently downloaded it onto my computer (the original video is now long gone due to countless formats). I had even watched it over and over again countless times.

I never cared about what song were used in the ad as it was so short that it didn’t gave me any impression at all. 5 years later or so today that I looked back at the ad over at Youtube only then I realised that the song used in that advertisement was in fact “Shiroi Hana”.

Wow, I thought to myself. This song could have been an invaluable information that I could have added onto “Clan Rayburn”, another of my website that now no longer exists.

ZONE was a bandol (band + idol) that I was introduced to as the original for ENOZ, the band Suzumiya Haruhi played in during North High’s School Festival. I couldn’t be bothered to look into ZONE at that time as… I didn’t even thought of it. Now that it is too late and that ZONE has split up, I’ll be only able to listen to their old songs.
