Kulim Bandar Baharu MP Slams Eli? Hogwash!
April 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I refer to the article that was published at The Malaysian Insider website entitled Zul Noordin slams Selangor for keeping Eli
First of all I would like to slam The Malaysian Insider for using a very misleading title for the article: the fact is Zulkifli Noordin, the PKR MP of Kulim Bandar Baharu, has never “slammed” Elizabeth Wong, an Exco of the Selangor State Government, for returning to work after she had submitted her resignation after nude photos of her were exposed. In fact, he had only distanced himself from the controversial move by Selangor PKR Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim to reject her resignation. The article had caused an outrage amongst some people calling themselves Eli supporters.
Now here’s my view: Zul is entitled to his own view and it is up to him to distance himself from any controversial decision made by his party. In fact if I were a lawmaker from Pakatan Rakyat I would have distanced myself from the controversial move to stop PPSMI (Pembelajaran Pendidikan Sains & Matematik Dalam Inggeris) as I support the move of using English in the teaching of Maths and Science subjects.
Next I wanted to comment on those so-called “hardcore” Eli supporters. I don’t know why they are so easily provoked by a silly article. Yes, Zul is a controversial politician himself for being an Islamic extremist and was notoriously known for his actions in barging into the Bar Council forum that was discussing religion for thinking that it was an attempt to lead muslims out of their faith. However he is a faithful PKR member. He has received hundreds of hate comments in his famous blog “The Riding MP” just for being protective of his religion. I don’t see anything wrong in protecting one’s religion. In fact, it is these so called supporters of Eli that should keep quiet and stop leaving hate comments. At least think of Eli. I don’t think Eli would want any of her supporter to go and attack another of her party member, amirite?
Again, I think those hate comments are made by some trojan horses pretending to be eli supporters trying to provoke Zul…
Lastly, I have to admit that I am a frequent reader of Zul’s blog. I like him because of his blogging style and the things that he discussed in his blog. In fact he had defended Nga Kor Ming, the DAP MP for Taiping when Nga had quoted the Al-Quran at a ceramah at the Bukit Gantang by-election and was slammed by all sorts of people. Zul confirmed that the quote Nga had quotted from the al-Quran was indeed genuine and that should be it, considering that it comes from somebody with strong Islamic knowledge.
Don’t go hate Zul or Eli, go hate the person who took the nude photos of Eli!
